Strictly 2008 rumours: is this the line-up?

The Sun believes it knows the line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2008.

Here it is (if you want to know more about each one click their name - it will take you to a Search result):

The official line-up will be revealed on Thursday August 28. As usual, we'll have full coverage here on the blog.

Nicole Cutler spills the beans

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nicole Cutler has some harsh words for the BBC in an exclusive in the News of the World.

She won't be appearing in series six of the show, by the way.

Update Jan 7
Just noticed the News of the World published an apology:

ON 24 August 2008, we published an article about Nicole Cutler, a former dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

We have been asked to clarify that she did not seek to criticize the show itself and did not call Bruce Forsyth “doddery” or Tess Daly “aloof”.

Nicole was proud to work for the BBC on Strictly Come Dancing and hopes to do so again in the future.

We are pleased to take this opportunity to set the record straight and apologise to Ms Cutler for any distress our article has caused her or her colleagues.

Strictly rumours: ex-EastEnders to sign up?

The Sun reports that former EastEnders actors Jessie Wallace, Gillian Taylforth and Phil Daniels have all signed up for Strictly Come Dancing series six.

Strictly judge Craig: "I hate ballroom"

In an interview in the Daily Mail, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood says he hates the ballroom part of the show because of its restrictive rules.

He also discusses the other judges' love of make-up and his audition to become a Strictly judge.

But the best quote is surely this: "People love to follow celebrities and watch them being humiliated. In the past we had the stocks; now we have Strictly." Now that's pure Craig.

His autobiography All Balls and Glitter: My Life is out in early September.

Strictly's Vincent and Louisa go Eurovision

Strictly Come Dancing professional Vincent Simone and his dance partner from series four actress Louisa Lytton will be performing together to represent the UK in this year's Eurovision Dance Contest.

More on this at Channel 4's website.

Let's hope it's a better show than last year's unmitigated load of nonsense. True Strictly fans will be happy to wait for the real thing rather than another unnecessary imitation (you'll no doubt also recall ITV's Baby Ballroom last year).

Strictly 2008 rumours: Davina McCall?

Is Big Brother host Davina McCall going to be on Strictly Come Dancing series six?

She is, according to Now magazine's website.
