Strictly Come Dancing 2009 week seven preview

It’s time to get ready for week seven of Strictly Come Dancing 2009

Here is what you need to know about Saturday’s programme:

What’s the format for this weekend?

There are 10 couples left in. Each is performing a different dance.

The two couples with lowest scores from a combination of judges' points and viewers’ votes will then face each other in a dance-off with the judges voting to save one of the couples. The other couple will leave the show.

The BBC’s blurb adds: the UK's rising stars of ballroom strut their stuff, and the professional dancers have a treat in store. Plus, music from the Bee Gees.

    Who’s performing which dance?

    • Ricky and Erin – rumba
    • Zoe and James – samba
    • Chris and Ola – cha cha cha.
    • Ali and Brian – paso doble
    • Natalie and Vincent – jive
    • Phil and Katya – tango
    • Laila and Anton – Viennese waltz
    • Ricky and Natalie – quickstep
    • Jade and Ian – foxtrot
    • Craig and Flavia – waltz

When is the show on TV?

    Saturday night
    6:50pm to 8:45pm BBC One.

This year you can watch in high-definition on the BBC HD channel – available subscription-free on Freesat. For more information go to: www.freesat.co.uk

What coverage will this blog be providing?

We will be doing live coverage on this blog – the ever bubbly Miss Bubbles will be in the hot seat for that so join her on Saturday night as the show starts. Once the show ends I get busy writing my usual full review of the night including blogger’s wife’s all important opinions on the dresses.

Do join in the discussion by using the comments section – as ever we love to read your views.

    Who’s going to be eliminated?

Yes, it is time for my ever-reliable prediction. Last week I predicted Craig Kelly would lose to Laila Rouass in the dance-off.. Both escaped the dance-off with Jade Johnson easily seeing off Jo Wood, so let’s see if I can do better this week.

The William Hill website offers the following odds for the week six elimination:

    Craig Kelly 4/5
    Chris Hollins 6/1
    Natalie Cassidy 6/1
    Ricky Groves 12/1
    Laila Rouass 14/1
    Zoe Lucker 12/1
    Jade Johnson 14/1
    Phil Tufnell 16/1
    Ali Bastian 50/1
    Ricky Whittle 100/1

This week, I predict Natalie Caasidy will lose to Ricky Groves  in the dance-off. The public will vote to keep Craig Kelly in so he can dance at Blackpool next week. Then they’ll drop him like a stone.

Matt in France/having watched every series of S/C/D.in each there has been contoversey. So why dont they involve the public in scores below 32. meaning scores of 32 and above are safe to dance nxt week. then lift the barrier as the comp . goes on. Then Mr Cha Cha Cha Craig would have to vote fairly.I love the followup during the week of Claudia (the interegator) of S/D/C. lovely, inteligent and the fastest talker known(in a nice way) all constructive comments.

Now becoming Stricktly come farce!!! Just stick to the judges voting, complete with Craigs stern judgement !!The public voting is going to drive me away from watching,I can't stand this injustice !!! We have another John Sargent situation, hasn't anybody learned any lessons here ?? Our Corrie actor is poor at his job,and even worse as a dancer,Bryan Tutin
