It Takes Two review – Thursday November 5 2009

Oh, quite a disparity in the training hours so far this week.

    Here is the training leader board, as revealed on Thursday’s It Takes Two;

    Couple Hours trained
    Jade and Ian 15
    Ali and Brian 14.5
    Natalie and Vincent 14.5
    Phil and Katya 13.5
    Chris and Ola 13.5
    Ricky G and Erin 12.5
    Craig and Flavia 11.5
    Laila and Anton 11
    Ricky W and Natalie 8.5

The best comment during the training footage came from Natalie Cassidy: “We’ll make Ali quake in her ballet pumps.”

The best moment in the training footage was Ola Jordan taping up Chris Hollins’ mouth (he counts out load and it annoys judge Alesha) and right hand (judge Craig dislikes the splayed fingers) to appease the judges.

Jade Johnson and Ian Waite turned up to enthuse about the jive. Despite their height they feel the training is going well.

“This dance was made for Jade,” said Ian.

Head judge Len’s master class attempted to recreate Lisa Snowdon and Brendan’s foxtrot from series six.

    With hilarious consequences.

Phil Tufnell and Katya Virshilas were last on.

They didn’t agree with head judge Len’s criticism of the number of hours they train. Phil said he had to record Question of Sport (a 30-minute TV quiz – why doesn’t Katya go to Manchester with him? I remember Darren Bennett heading off to Ipswich to train with Letitia Dean while she was in panto there.) and Katya said what was more important was the quality of the training not the quantity.

They’re doing the rumba this week. Phil has to be dominant and yet show a softer side too. “Every time I do it you just laugh at me,” he said to Katya.

    Bodes well.
